Photoshoot: Taken in Central London and Greenwich
Manipulated Images
The Techniques Used
The techniques I used in both of these images were very simillar. However, I did encounter some difficulties whilst trying to manipulate them so I had to adjust my method. I had more difficulty with the first image as some parts of the background were similar to the subject of the photo which made it hard to select the subject only. I did have this problem in the second photo but it wasn't like the first. To select the image I used the magnetic lasso tool which went around the part of the image I wanted to select.
My work was inspired by Christoffer Relander however, I did not use natural elements like he does. Instead I used man made structures which were buildings which were taken in urban environments. The geometric structures of the buildings contrast with the subject of the photo and is the opposite of Christoffer's work.

Method
- Firstly, I cut the subject from the background.
- Then I unlocked the layer and added a layer mask to the portrait photo.
- I then created a new layer and put it under the portrait photo and filled it with a white colour.
- I copied the background image I was going to use and put it onto the portrait by pressing Ctrl A, Ctrl C and then Ctrl V.
- I then adjusted the background image by pressing Ctrl T.
- I selected the layer 0 and pressed lighten to make the background image visible through the portrait.
- Then, I applied a layer mask to the background.
- I then Ctrl clicked on the layer 0 and inversed it so that I could erase the parts of the background that weren't needed.
