My thoughts on the trip:
The Distorted Photos:
There wasn't many photos that inspired me however, I did like the distorted photos of faces. They were pushed up against a glass screen making the faces look warped and not especially nice to look at. This inspired me to create a similar photo as it made me think that photos did not have to look aesthetically nice to be a good photo. I think the distorted photos was like showing the harsh reality of things making me think that it was intentionally made like this, similar to most of the other art in the gallery. I also like how simple the photos were to create but it's effective as the glass used on the face gives them an expression that couldn't have been made naturally.
There was some very simple photos but also very abstract photos as most of them were quite sexual and unrestricted. I couldn't quite see the meaning behind some of these abstract photos. I also liked the photos with simple patterns as they had very bold colors which stood out to me. There was also a photo with two sides of a face, one old and one young. I liked this photo because it showed how the person had changed but still resembled what they looked like when they were young.
