For my final piece, I was able to create merged images on Photoshop which combined the natural photos that I took with the man-made objects and cityscapes that I shot. I did this by layering the images on top of each other and lightening them to make it seem as if they were fading into one another. I also created vintage looking photos from the natural shoot I carried out an edited them on Photoshop to look vintage. I did this by adding folded and weathered filters on top of the photos as well as adding a sepia tone and some noise to the photos. I edited the man-made photos in a more modern way by making them look sharp with adding more contrast and editing the lighting in areas. I felt as though the man-made photos that I took suited a more modern look because of how the structures are perfect and fixed unlike the natural structures I took photos of which are free in how they are formed with no strict way of how they should look. This also relates to how in the older and vintage times there were less beautiful buildings to look at compared to now where there are modern buildings everywhere and so, I wanted to show that contrast.
I printed the merged images on a very large scale because I felt it gave much more of an impact when they were larger as you are able to see all of the details that are in the photos and makes you feel as if you are looking into the scene in real time. I also printed out some of the man-made and natural images which I then worked into to produce images where the natural aspects were bursting out of the man-made image which showed similarities as well as differences between the two forms.
