Communities
My photo shoots are of the street art that I found in Shoreditch and modern and classic cars at the car show at the Excel in East London. Shoreditch was an area we chose at random but when we got there, I realized how much street art there was in the area and that it could mean that there are very expressive people in the area or what the area has been through as some of the graffiti art was abstract meaning they could each have different stories behind them. I was also interested in the street art because of how vibrant they were which made the area feel welcoming.
I took shots of modern and classic cars that I had found interesting. The shots I took compare and contrast the changes that have happened over a long period of time. Another reason why I was interested in these cars is that I found it nostalgic to see cars that I had only seen on TV when I was young or in video games. In comparison to the photo shoot in Shoreditch, the car show made me feel out of place and less welcoming because there were many expensive cars with their prices reaching millions and more. However, at the same time it also felt like one huge community as we all had come together for the sake of seeing cars.
